All You Need To Know About Dr Dennis Gross Exfoliating Body Treatment

How do I use the Alpha Beta Exfoliating Body Treatment?
Begin application with folded towel on clean, dry skin. Massage upwards using circular motions. As towel begins to dry, unfold and move to other body zones. Continue until completely dry. Apply 2 times a weekly – and for more stubborn concerns, apply 3 times weekly.

This product is designed to treat your full body. We suggest that you start with – and focus most of the application – on the area of most concern (e.g. dry, ashy legs or KP on the arms) before moving onto the rest of your body. Do not apply to the face. For external use only.

How does this product fit within my body regimen?
Alpha Beta Exfoliating Body Treatment is best applied on clean, dry skin so we suggest applying after the shower. This product is designed to both exfoliate and hydrate all in one step, therefore most will not need to apply a body lotion after. If you still wish to use a body lotion or moisturiser, apply this after the Exfoliating Body Treatment. Always use an SPF in the AM when using Body Treatment like our All Physical Dark Spot Sun Defense SPF 50.

Which areas can I treat and what to avoid?
This product is designed to be an all over body treatment. Depending on your concerns, main areas of focus could include chest, back, arms, legs, bikini line and underarms. If you have targeted concerns on the neck, such as stubborn ingrown hairs in the beard area, this product can be applied on the neck area but do not use your Alpha Beta Daily Peel on the same area. Do not use Exfoliating Body Treatment on your face.

Can I use this on my bottom for breakouts there?
Yes, you can use this product to target body acne, including the butt area. Use externally only.

Do I use before/after shaving or waxing?
If you wax, wait 24 hours before applying the Exfoliating Body Treatment. If you shave, we recommend applying the Exfoliating Body Treatment 2 plus hours after shaving. Ideally, we suggest shaving in the AM and applying this treatment in the PM or vice versa. Do not apply over cuts or broken skin.

Can I use on the feet?
Yes – this is perfect for people with dry and/or calloused feet. Apply up to 3 times a week on stubborn calluses.

Can I use this on my underarms?
Yes! This product is formulated and clinically proven to target hyperpigmentation, ingrown hairs, and bumpiness, including the underarm area.

Can I use this on the pubic area?
Yes. This product has been formulated to target ingrown hairs and razor bumps, including the top of the pubic area. Avoid applying on sensitive areas and after chemical hair removal. Use externally only.

Can I use with laser hair removal?
Wait 48 plus hours before or after laser hair removal treatment.

What about body treatment before going into sun?
If using the Body Treatment before going into the sun, apply SPF and reapply regularly.

How long should I wait between treatments? Should I only use Body Treatment at night?
Apply up to 3 times week or every other day. This product can be used either AM or PM. If you plan to spend time outside or exposed to the sun, always apply SPF all over your body and reapply regularly.

How do I use this with body scrubs?
This product will replace your body scrubs (and maybe your body lotion too!). Body scrubs are physical exfoliants while Exfoliating Body Treatment works by chemical and enzymatic exfoliation. Although both methods exfoliate the skin, we prefer chemical and enzymatic exfoliation as it is gentle yet effective while scrubs can lead to dryness and irritation. Also, as a leave on product, we’ve been able to pack Exfoliating Body Treatment with anti-ageing and soothing ingredients such as bakuchiol, squalane, and hyaluronic acid to ensure skin is smooth, glowing and hydrated all in one step.

Can I use this if I’m pregnant?
This product contains salicylic acid which is not recommended for use when pregnant or nursing. We recommend that you always consult your doctor before trying new products while pregnant.

Can I use this with devices, like a body brush?
Yes, Body Treatment is safe to use with devices such as Clarisonic that don’t disrupt the skin barrier. We suggest using body devices before applying Exfoliating Body Treatment to clean, dry skin.

Can I use this with LED devices?
Yes, LED is a non-heat generating light treatment that does not emit UV rays making it safe for use with Body Treatment. Use LED devices before applying Body Treatment.

Can I apply over tattoos/will this fade tattoos?
Although you don’t want to use this during the tattoo healing process, you can apply over a fully healed tattoo without worrying about any fading. In fact, this product could potentially enhance the look and colour of tattoos by lifting away dull, dead skin cells and revealing new, healthy skin.
